Olivia Holdt scored a hat-trick as Tottenham Hotspur Women delivered a ruthless 7-0 away victory over Crystal Palace in the Women's Super League on Sunday. The result moves Spurs up to second in the table, just two points behind leaders Manchester City after three games.
Holdt broke the deadlock four minutes after half-time, finishing from a Victoria Pelova pass. She added her second on the hour mark and completed her treble in the 73rd minute, with both goals assisted by Synne Gaupset. Pelova then scored twice herself, either side of strikes from substitutes Sofia Martinez and Amanda Nilden.
The match turned early when Palace's Fuka Tsunoda was sent off for a serious foul in the seventh minute. Spurs capitalised fully after the break, scoring six of their seven goals in the second half. The team's goal difference now stands at plus nine, having scored 11 times while conceding only twice this season.
Manager Robert Vilahamn will be pleased with the response after last week's draw at Liverpool. The performance was a comprehensive team effort, with six different players registering either a goal or an assist.
