Tottenham Women's midfielder Leo Black has left the club after 12 years, expressing gratitude for the opportunities he received during his time at the Women's Super League team. Black, who can also play as an inverted right back, has played around 100 matches for the U21s and U18s over recent years. He trained with the first team on various occasions and made a senior appearance for the club under Ange Postecoglou in the friendly against Newcastle United in Melbourne on Spurs' post-season tour of Australia in the summer of 2024. Black's future looks to be bright despite his exit from the Premier League club with Hull City and Birmingham City both credited with interest in recent weeks in signing him as a free agent, with the midfielder having played on trial for the former's U21s last month. Black posted an old photo of himself as a young child beside the old White Hart Lane pitch on Instagram in contrast to a more recent image of him in action for the club in the season just gone. The midfielder said on social media, 'After 12 years at this amazing club, my time has come to an end. A place I’m proud to call my second home,' Black said on social media. 'Being part of this club has helped shape who I am today, and I will always look back on my time here with gratitude. Thank you for investing your time, energy, and care in helping me progress and I wish everyone nothing but the best for the future.' First team left-back Destiny Udogie simply replied: 'Baller!' while others liked his post. Mikey Moore responded 'All the best mate' while Mason Melia, who made his Republic of Ireland debut in the past fortnight, posted 'All the best brother'. Various development squad players from the present and past commented underneath and Tottenham's first-team academy transition coach Stuart Lewis, who would have coached Black for the U18s, said: 'Good luck Leo! It’s been a pleasure seeing you progress both on and off the pitch over the years.. All the best for the future.'
